A Recognition of 50 Years of Service, Compassion, and Impact
CONTACT of Mercer County is deeply honored to have received a Joint Resolution of the New Jersey State Legislature formally commending the organization for its outstanding performance and meritorious service to the residents of New Jersey over the past fifty years.
This rare and meaningful recognition reflects the Legislature’s acknowledgment of CONTACT’s longstanding commitment to emotional support, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and community care, and affirms the vital role CONTACT has played in strengthening the health and well-being of individuals and families across our region since 1975.
For five decades, CONTACT has answered the call—literally and figuratively—by meeting people where they are, often in moments of profound vulnerability. From our early days as a local crisis hotline to our current work answering calls, chats, and texts for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, operating the CONTACT Listening Line, and providing compassionate outreach through our Reassurance Program for older adults, our mission has remained constant: no one should face crisis, loneliness, or despair alone.
The Legislature’s resolution honors not only the organization, but also the thousands of trained counselors, volunteers, staff members, board leaders, community partners, and supporters who have made this work possible. It is a testament to the power of sustained civic commitment, public-private partnership, and a community that believes in listening as an act of care.
As CONTACT marks its 50th anniversary, this recognition serves both as a moment of reflection and a call to continue the work ahead. The need for accessible, compassionate mental health support has never been greater—and with the continued support of our community and partners, CONTACT remains steadfast in its promise:
You are not alone. CONTACT is listening.
